The Pristone Method is not a fixed curriculum. It is an evidence-led loop used to decide what a learner needs now, how to work on it, and what evidence should change before the plan moves forward.

The method stays consistent across subject areas while the evidence, exercises, and performance criteria change.

Establish the goal

Define the capability, decision, performance, or body of work the learner is trying to produce.

Diagnose

Observe real performance rather than inferring the problem from a score, title, or self-description alone.

Decompose

Separate knowledge, recognition, strategy, execution, interpretation, pacing, judgment, and communication.

Prioritize

Choose the smallest number of constraints that will create the greatest useful change.

Build capability

Combine direct instruction, deliberate practice, project work, feedback, and independent application.

Test transfer

Use an unfamiliar problem to check whether the learner can perform without reproducing a memorized solution.

Measure

Compare new evidence with the baseline using the dimensions that matter for the learner's actual goal.

Re-prioritize

Update the plan as the learner improves, because the highest-leverage constraint should change over time.

Diagnostic language

Different errors require different interventions

More practice is not a diagnosis. Pristone separates the type of breakdown before deciding what to teach or rehearse.

Conceptual

The necessary idea or fact is not yet understood.

Recognition

The learner knows the concept but does not recognize when it applies.

Strategic

The chosen approach is inefficient, fragile, or poorly matched to the problem.

Execution

The plan is sound, but the implementation, calculation, or procedure breaks down.

Interpretation

The learner misreads the task, evidence, constraint, or requested output.

Pacing

Time or attention is allocated in a way that prevents a complete performance.

Judgment

Tradeoffs are noticed but not weighed appropriately for the situation.

Communication

The reasoning is stronger than the learner's ability to make it clear and defensible.

This taxonomy is a working diagnostic vocabulary, not a clinical or psychometric assessment. It organizes observable learning and performance behavior.

Transfer

The goal is independent performance, not assisted completion

A new problem

The learner applies the capability to work that is similar enough to be relevant but different enough to prevent memorized reproduction.

A clear explanation

The learner makes assumptions, decisions, and tradeoffs visible instead of only presenting a final answer.

Reduced support

Prompts and scaffolding are deliberately withdrawn so independence can be observed rather than assumed.
