How progress is checked

Record the baseline

Capture what the learner can currently do, the conditions of the attempt, and where support was required.

Name the target behavior

Define what should become more accurate, independent, timely, defensible, or transferable.

Collect work evidence

Use problem attempts, code, designs, explanations, project artifacts, or timed performance as appropriate.

Retest under changed conditions

Use a new problem or reduced scaffolding so improvement is not confused with repetition.

Update the priority plan

Keep, change, or retire the intervention based on the new evidence.

Reporting

What a useful progress summary should contain

Observed evidence

What the learner attempted and what was visible in the work.

Interpretation

Which constraint the evidence most strongly supports, including uncertainty where it remains.

Change since baseline

What improved, remained unstable, or could not yet be evaluated.

Next priority

The smallest set of actions likely to create the next meaningful change.
